"This
german aquaplane was shot into fire 194?, when it was laying by
quay at Kjevik, in the Topdal Fjord. The moorings were cut and
the burning plane sank about 100 meters from the quay, at 31 meter
of depth.The plane
is, with no doubt, of the Donier Type, but some people disagree
with the size. The 18 had a smaller cockpit than the 24, but the
engine of the 18 was not a starengine.
Personly I think the wreck is a Donier 24, because people, who
knows a lot more about planes than me, recognizes the engine as
a starengine. The wreck is laying in 4 parts, connected with a
guideline, which makes it easy
to swim from part to part.
Dust and silt from the seabed is easily wiped up, so be carefull
about you boyancy control. There is no current to remove the dust.
