Behind
the sinking of the S/S Nicomedia is a fantastic story and a brilliant
example of socalled "Gentlemens war". Like the other
sinkings of the E-19 Submarine Massacre, no lives were lost and
the story even tell us, that the crewmembers from both the S/S
Ncomedia and the Submarine, E-19 was drinking a barrel of beer
together, before the crew from the S/S Nicomedia was told to leave
in the rescueboats and the bottomvalves were opened.
Today
the wreck is found very intact and a huge number of winches is
among the most recognizable subjects and at the bow you really
feel a kind of "Titanic-atmosphere".
